RISE/Acreo and MSF has developed a temperature logging self adhesive label with a flexible display.
Drugs are not only affected by temperature; time also plays an important role. To know whether a drug package is damaged it is necessary to know how long time the drug has been exposed to different over- or under temperatures. A microprocessor is therefore needed together with a display to show the indication.
The picture shows an early version which indicate different states as a response to temperature. A later version also allows programming and downloading of the logged data by NFC with a standard smartphone.
